Conquers of the Wild West #3
Image Description: Front cover of Woman of the Cavalcade featuring a historic black‑and‑white photograph of early Western settlers gathered outside a building.
About the book: Cliff Ammons, Edith Kohl's nephew, presents her unique trilogy describing the settling of America's wild, wild west. Woman of the Cavalcade is Edith's third book in the series entitled, Conquers of the Wild West - Edith Kohl's trilogy. This book is preceded by two other books, Land of the Burnt Thigh and, The Sodbreakers. Cliff only recently discovered all three original manuscripts in an old, ratty-looking suitcase! Now, all three books are published together for the very first time.
About the Author: Edith Eudora Kohl (also known as Edith Ammons Kohl) was an American writer and homesteader who documented the lives of frontier women in the early 20th‑century West. Her firsthand experiences homesteading in South Dakota with her sister Ida Mary shaped her memoirs, including Land of the Burnt Thigh (1938), considered one of the most vivid accounts of women homesteaders on the Great Plains. Her work is valued for its historical insight, personal storytelling, and preservation of women’s voices in pioneer history. Land of the Burnt Thigh is the first book in Edith Eudora Kohl's homesteading trilogy. The Sodbreakers and Women of the Calvacade are next.
