About the Author: Paul Goble (1933–2017), born in England, became renowned for over 30 books celebrating Native American traditions, including the Caldecott Medal winner The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses. Adopted by Lakota and Yakima people, he settled in South Dakota’s Black Hills in 1977 and devoted his life to sharing the wisdom and stories of Native cultures.
